2. THE DAILY SIGNAL: Legislation by Rep. Ted Budd would require abortionists to report suspected trafficking victims

"Legislation proposed by Rep. Ted Budd of North Carolina would require abortion providers to file a report with the National Human Trafficking Hotline if they suspect a patient at the clinic is a victim of human trafficking.

The Daily Signal first obtained a copy of the legislation, the Stopping Traffickers and Their Accomplices Act of 2022, which requires that abortion providers notify the hotline no later than 24 hours after consulting with a patient if they have 'a reasonable suspician that the patient is a victim of trafficking.'

Should the bill be enacted into law, those abortion providers who violate the act could be fined $10,000, imprisoned for up to six months, or both."

3. CAROLINA JOURNAL: State Supreme Court hears arguments for, against N.C. election maps

"North Carolina’s legislative and congressional election maps now sit in the hands of the N.C. Supreme Court, after 90 minutes of oral arguments for and against the maps Wednesday morning."

"Chief Justice Paul Newby, a Republican, repeatedly questioned the plaintiffs’ lawyers about how the court should address their concerns.

'Why can’t you say that the will of the people is established by the precise language of the constitution?' Newby asked.'“The precise language of the constitution in Article II gives the General Assembly the authority to redistrict, and it sets out the objective standards that ought to be used. Why isn’t that the will of the people?'

Newby also questioned the absence of clear rules separating acceptable election maps from unconstitutional maps.

'Here we get into separation-of-power issues if there’s not a clear constitutional standard,' he said."

4. REASON: Hispanic students were forced to learn critical race theory. They hated It.

"One of suggested activities for students is an 'intersectional rainbow.'

'Students will rank their various identities with corresponding colored strings to create intersectional rainbows. Gender, race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, beliefs, nationality, ability, age, etc.,' reads the syllabus. 'Students will compare and contrast their intersectional rainbows with their peers, while framing their discourse within the intersectionality paradigm as laid out by Kimberlé Crenshaw.'"

5. NATIONAL REVIEW: New Poll Shows Strong Opposition to Mail-Order Abortions

"[A] new Marist poll on abortion commissioned by the Knights of Columbus adds to a significant body of research finding that most Americans oppose taxpayer funding for abortion both at home and abroad."

LORD, we recognize that you are Sovereign over all creation. We recognize you made man from the dust, and in your mercy, you crowned creation with man and woman made in your image. What a wonder it is that you would bestow upon us this blessing and responsibility! LORD, may we not take this blessing for granted. We pray that this great responsibility and dignity may motivate us to love You, our neighbors, and our families more.

LORD, may we as a culture truly see and believe that children are a blessing from the LORD—born or unborn; able or disabled. All children should have an opportunity to experience the liberty of life. LORD, make us your vehicle to change our culture into one that cherishes and protects life. Keep at the forefront of our minds our responsibilities to respect, cherish, and serve the youngest and oldest in our society.

Finally, LORD, we pray even further for our children. Across our state, country, and world, an entire generation of youth have seen their lives and education ruptured by the pandemic and its closing of schools. Father, as a result so many of these children are not only wounded by the quality of their education, but by a likely onslaught of mental illness brought about by social isolation. LORD, bring them hope and healing as only You can.

"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?' He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.'" (Matthew 18:1-6)
