1. Congressman Mark Walker honored the NC Values Coalition at our Raleigh reception
Last Thursday evening Congressman Mark Walker honored the NC Values Coalition at our Raleigh reception. Take a look at what he shared with us...
When it comes to current issues and climate, he shared disappointment around challenges of agreement, especially in the areas of tax reform and an Obamacare repeal deal. He also shared good reports of the Trump administration in fulfilling its campaign promises. In fact, the Trump administration has ended up advancing the pro-life cause more than any other president. He also praised the NC Values Coalition for its work on pro-life issues, marriage and family issues, and religious freedom, values to which he is deeply committed.
2. A $1.6 billion abortion industry boondoggle
"Abortion providers spent more than $1.6 billion in U.S. tax dollars over a three-year period, according to a report released last week by the Government Accountability Office."
Taxpayers are supporting over 350,000 abortions by Planned Parenthood, because Planned Parenthood receives from the government $1.6 billion in grants and funding for their other programs which allows them to use their other funds for their abortion programs!
3. Kansas Republicans Are Standing Up to Transgender Lies, Protecting Kids From Harm
This type of instruction is being done in certain parts of the North Carolina (Charlotte and Fayetteville, where we worked with local activists recently to push this type of curriculum out of the schools). Public schools have no business presenting transgender and homosexual behavior in a favorable light. Parents ought to have the sole authority to present these topics to their kids!
"Literature promoting homosexuality and transgenderism has been developed for children as young as kindergarten. (One book, “George,” received a William Allen White Children’s Book Award from Emporia State University in 2017.) Teachers and coaches are being instructed to affirm transgender identities and coerced to use a student’s “preferred pronouns.”
In 2016, parents in Derby, Kansas, were shocked to learn that their high school’s locker rooms, bathrooms, and other private facilities were to be open to students on the basis of “gender identity,” thanks to a “guidance” document issued by the Obama administration.
And just last month, a judge in Ohio revoked the parental rights of a couple who wouldn’t allow their minor child to begin sex-reassignment procedures.
We didn’t ask for this fight, but it’s here."
"The Conscience Protection Act (CPA) – one of the ERLC’s legislative priorities in its 2018 agenda – would bar government discrimination against health care workers and facilities that object to being involved in abortion, as well as health insurers that refuse to provide coverage of the lethal procedure. The bill will provide victims of discrimination with the ability to defend their rights in court in a first for federal laws to protect health care conscience rights.
Supporters of the bill are calling for inclusion of the CPA in a new omnibus federal spending bill, which could be voted on soon by the House of Representatives. The temporary spending resolution now in effect expires March 23.
“It is completely unjust that any American doctor or clinic would be punished for holding to their beliefs on the sanctity of human life,” Moore said in written comments for BP. “My prayer is that members of Congress would stand up for human dignity and make clear that the federal government has no authority to dictate to the conscience.”"
We passed legislation like this in NC in 2013 providing that licensed physicians, nurses, or any other health care providers who shall state an objection to abortion on moral, ethical, or religious grounds shall not be required to perform an abortion. Now, we need to pass legislation similar to NC’s on the federal level!
5. College student kicked out of class for telling professor there are only two genders
"A religious studies major was barred from Christianity class at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for saying during class that there are only two genders."
'Lake Ingle, a senior at the university, said he was silenced and punished by IUP Professor Alison Downie for questioning her during a Feb. 28 “Christianity 481: Self, Sin, and Salvation” lecture."
WEEKLY PRAYER: OFFICIALS
LORD, you are the Judge of the nations. You are Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. You are sovereign over all.
LORD, may we find assurance and comfort in the reality that you are the LORD God. In spite of the political events that are unfolding in our country and around the world, we remind ourselves that you are in control. That the Church is within the protection of your providence. That Jesus is our Prince of Peace, and that one day every knee shall bow and declare His Lordship.
LORD, we also bring these specific prayer requests to you, and pray that your Spirit may empower our petitions: LORD, be with the students at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, you know their struggle, give them the fortitude to press on. We thank you GOD for men like Lt. Gov. Dan Forest for passing the Campus Free Speech Act, which protects college students in NC from this type of intrusion on their First Amendment Rights. LORD be with the courts and judges around the nation and in Kansas specifically as these transgender lies are circulated. We know this issue too well in North Carolina and thank you for what you have done in Fayetteville. Be with our nation's Supreme Court and Legislature so they can make moral and ethical decision that are in line with Your natural law as they are faced with the reality that pro abortion groups are committing hate crimes, fraud and bullying pro-life activists. LORD we bring to you the Conscience Protection Act and ask that Congress make the right decision. Soften the hearts of the Supreme Court Justices and have them see how precious the life of the unborn is to You oh LORD. We bring all these issues to Your feet and ask for Your will to be done.
“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God." (Romans 13:1)
"For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations." (Psalms 22:28)
