1. WBTV: New court ruling throws wrinkle into NC-09 investigation; new board must be appointed
"A three-judge panel overseeing a lawsuit challenging the current makeup of the North Carolina State Board of Elections issued a new ruling Thursday night that effectively dissolves the board at noon on Friday."
2. NC VALUES NC09 RULING STATEMENT: Three-Judge panel orders State Board of Elections to dissolve
"The unanimous ruling just issued this evening by the bipartisan 3-judge District Court panel makes it clear that 'the voters of the Ninth Congressional District are entitled to have their elected representative in place by the time Congress convenes or to know why they will not have their representative in place.'"
“'We demand that Governor Cooper and the North Carolina State Board of Elections and Ethics Enforcement immediately comply with the Court’s order. The Board delayed its evidentiary hearing until January 11th to try to cobble together enough evidence to justify a new election. The truth is that there is not enough evidence to warrant holding a new election, and the Board’s delay is disenfranchising the voters of the Ninth Congressional District. Now, the Board must comply with the Court’s order and certify the election of Mark Harris to Congress by noon tomorrow or risk being held in contempt of Court.'"
3. WINSTON-SALEM JOURNAL: N.C. legislators override Gov. Roy Cooper's veto of elections bill
"With Republicans’ veto-proof majority ending Monday, the North Carolina legislature on Thursday overrode the Democratic Gov. Roy Coopers’s veto of legislation that would keep campaign-finance investigations confidential and allow the GOP to possibly dump their nominee in a still-undecided U.S. House race marred with ballot-fraud allegations.
The override would require new primaries as well as a general election in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District if the ongoing state elections board investigation into suspected ballot fraud forces new voting."
4. FOX NEWS: Democrat Senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee discriminate against Catholics
"Two Democratic senators are scrutinizing a federal judicial nominee over his membership in the Knights of Columbus, drawing a stern rebuke from the Catholic organization.
Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, raised concerns about Omaha-based lawyer Brian Buescher's membership as part of the Senate Judiciary Committee's review of his nomination by President Trump to sit on the U.S. District Court in Nebraska, as first reported by the Catholic News Agency."

WEEKLY PRAYER: ELECTIONS
LORD, we pray over the affairs of our country. You instructed us to pray for our elected officials, and so we raise our hands before you in public petition. We pray for all our public officials, and in particular we pray for what is going on with the Board of Elections in the 9th congressional district. We pray that they may come to a clear decision, and that the election results may be certified. Grant our civil servants good health, humility, wisdom, and guidance.
LORD, as the new Congress prepares to begin, we pray for a sense of your presence there in Washington. We pray for Mark Harris, that his election would be settled and his name restored. We pray our leaders will be sensitive to your voice and will be guided by your words as revealed in Scripture. We pray that the members of the 9th congressional district may not go unrepresented, and that justice and transparency prevails.
We ask these things in the name of your Son, Jesus.
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." (Matthew 7:7-8)`
