1. Likely gubernatorial candidate Forest touts fundraising
"The latest fundraising numbers released by likely 2020 North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Dan Forest could make fellow Republicans think twice before getting into the race with him.
The lieutenant governor's campaign committee said this week he had raised more than $3 million during 2017 for the committee and two other political groups, including a "super PAC" that promoted Forest during this successful 2016 re-election bid."
Lt. Govenor Forest has been a stalwart defender of the very same values we hold dear to our heart and mission, it will be an interesting election in 2020.
2. Senate Fails to Pass 20-Week Abortion Ban
"The Senate failed this evening to pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would’ve banned abortions after 20 weeks, after Democrats filibustered the bill. In a 51–46 vote, the bill failed to make it out of debate and to a final floor vote.
Two Republicans — Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska — continued their support for abortion by crossing the aisle to vote with the Democrats against the bill. Meanwhile, three Democrats — Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Bob Casey Jr. of Pennsylvania, and Joe Donnelly of Indiana — broke ranks and voted with Republicans in favor of the legislation. The vote split along similar party lines in 2015, the last time the Senate considered similar legislation."
North Carolina's two Senators — Thom Tillis and Richard Burr — voted in favor of the 20-week abortion ban. We thank them for supporting a common-sense restriction on abortion at 20 weeks, when science shows that babies can feel pain.
3. The Medical Monsters Among Us
"Ryan Anderson has published a nuanced, reasoned, and thoughtful book-length argument against the transgender moment and ideology. Within this reasoned and thoughtful argument, he has also written a blistering condemnation of complicit doctors and therapists that reads somewhat like a legal brief."
Read this thorough review of Ryan Anderson's new book When Harry Met Sally.
4. Court orders university to reinstate Christian club booted for refusing to elect LGBT activist
"A Christian group has prevailed in court and will be reinstated as a campus organization after being stripped of club status for disqualifying an active homosexual from running for its leadership position.
U.S. District Court Judge Stephanie Rose granted a temporary injunction blocking the University of Iowa’s (UI) ban against the campus Christian group Business Leaders in Christ (BLinC). Tuesday’s decision allowed BLinC to recruit at a fair in the student union on Wednesday.
“The University has to stop discriminating against BLinC because of its religious beliefs,” Becket Fund attorney Eric Baxter stated in a press release. “Every other group on campus gets to select leaders who embrace their mission. Religious groups don’t get second-class treatment.”"

WEEKLY PRAYER: GUIDANCE AND COUNSEL
LORD, you are the great shepherd and counselor. You are sovereign over all. We come to you and ask for guidance as we travel this world full of difficulties and sin.
LORD, may we find assurance and comfort in the reality that you are the LORD God. In spite of the political events that are unfolding in our country and around the world, we remind ourselves that you are in control. That the Church is within the protection of your providence. That Jesus is our Prince of Peace, and that one day every knee shall bow and declare His Lordship.
LORD, we also bring these specific prayer requests to you, and pray that your Spirit may empower our petitions: Be with our team at NC Values, give them clarity and guidance as we plan how best to represent these values centered on you God. LORD, would you be with Ryan Anderson as he tackles this difficult issue in our social climate? LORD, be with your people as they deal with major issues like gay marriage and transgenderism. Be with Lt. Governor Forest as he starts his arduous journey to serve the people of North Carolina as Governor in 2020. Give him good health, and provide him with Your guidance and counsel as he governs in his present role as our Lieutenant Governor and as he prepares to run for Governor. Be with all the members of our General Assembly, and with the judges of our courts. Be with President Trump and his cabinet. Provide Your insight and wisdom as members of President Trump's administration seek to carry out policies and laws that advance Your Kingdom and right past wrongs. Be with our nation's Supreme Court and Legislature so they can make moral and ethical decision that are in line with Your natural law.
“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)
"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come." (John 16:13)
