1. Charlotte Observer: San Francisco Democrat Nancy Pelosi has spent $227,000 to defeat Mark Harris in 9th Congressional District
"No congressional race in the state has seen more outside spending than North Carolina’s 9th District. And now the target of that spending, Republican Mark Harris, is using it to lash out at his opponent. On Wednesday the House Majority PAC, tied to Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, will report spending $227,600 against Harris. That’s the most outside spending by any group so far in North Carolina congressional races."
2. LIFENEWS: The FDA is using federal tax dollars to create a demand for human body parts that must be taken from babies who are aborted
"A new report indicates the Food and Drug Administration has signed a new contract to acquire body parts from aborted babies to be transplanted into so-called humanized mice. The grisly experiments allow mice to have a functioning human immune system for research purposes. This is not the first time that body parts from babies victimized by abortion have gone towards the strange experiments. As LifeNews previously reported, the Center for Medical Progress expose’ of the Planned Parenthood abortion business contained new revelations that some aborted baby remains sold by Planned Parenthood go to biotech companies for the purpose of creating “humanized” mice.”
3. BRNOW: Love Life's Triangle launch event is a major pro-life success in the Raleigh area
Here's a summary of Love Life's launch events. We had a fantastic group of hundreds of people show up in Raleigh on Saturday. Thanks again for all your help!
4. THE DAILY SIGNAL: New Title X rule will hold Planned Parenthood accountable on reporting abuse
"The Trump administration and HHS should be applauded for the new Title X rule. It will prevent federal dollars from continuing to be used as a slush fund for the abortion industry, and hold grant recipients accountable if they fail to help victims of sex abuse and trafficking."
5. Charlotte Observer: The Charlotte Observer launched a hit piece against Mark Harris that distorts Scripture and Harris' sermons
"Now a 2014 sermon on marriage is making headlines. Roll Call first reported the sermon. In the sermon on Ephesians 22, Harris called on women to 'submit' to their husbands.'Well, what’s the message to the wives? Well, God instructs all Christian wives to submit to their husbands,' Harris said. 'You see wives, please hear me this morning. The message is not from your husband to submit, the message is from the Lord. You’re not to ever submit ma’am because your husband demands it, but you do it because the Lord ordained it. Now ladies, you can rebel against that command, but just please understand you’re not rebelling against your husband,' Harris said. Harris said in the sermon that 'submission is not about inferiority in any way, any shape and any form. It simply reflects a God-ordained function of things.' Harris stood by those comments in an interview with Roll Call."
WEEKLY PRAYER: LIBERTY
LORD, you are the giver of life and liberty. You are the One in whom we find true freedom. We pray with the deepest of gratitude, because you've broken our chains of depravity, and have gifted us a freedom born in love and service.
LORD, may we not take our liberties lightly. Even today, our brothers and sisters all across the globe experience physical, emotional, and social torture because they rightly cry out: "JESUS IS LORD!" Every day, our brethren across the globe experience persecution, and this has been a shared story of the church since its inception.
LORD, we also bring these specific prayer requests to you, and pray that your Spirit may empower our petitions: Father, project your champions of True Liberty. Project the proclamation of the Word in the public square. Whether people are attempting to voice their convictions online, or live them out in their daily work, protect them from harm, abuse, and bigotry. Be with us as we advance and advocate for the chief liberty you gives LORD—the freedom from sin.
“For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2)
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:18-19)
