"Frustrated parents across the nation are planning to remove their children from public schools later this month in protest of "pornographic" sex ed curriculum being taught under the guise of "anti-bullying."
The "Sex Ed Sit Out," which has been months in the making, is taking place on Monday, April 23.
The protest was launched by a few American mothers on social media who were troubled by the explicit nature of content in current sex ed resources used in public schools. As their coordination efforts gained ground, the initiative went global with demonstrations planned in Australia and Canada."
2. Have APR, Will Travel: How This Mobile Crew Helped a Mother Save Her Baby
"Since APR officially began in 2012, the regimen has been credited with saving over 400 babies.
The treatment works by giving women extra progesterone, a natural hormone that is necessary to sustain a healthy pregnancy. The abortion pill, mifepristone (or RU-486), blocks progesterone, essentially starving the pre-born baby of nutrients. Since the 1950s, progesterone has been used as a safe medical intervention to fight miscarriages. Today, it has the longstanding approval of the FDA.
Dr. Matt Harrison, the North Carolina physician who helped develop the APR protocol beginning in 2007, oversees the center’s prenatal clinic and APR program. He has been instrumental in implementing the program at pregnancy centers along the east coast.
“Abortion Pill Reversal offers a second chance to women who change their mind after taking the abortion pill,” Dr. Harrison told Pregnancy Help News. “Our reversal protocol is safe, effective, and over 350 healthy babies have been born with another 100 on the way to moms that have chosen to reverse their abortions. We have over 400 providers and have reversed abortions in 15 countries. Our overall success rate is 56 percent, but with proper use of our pill or injection protocol, our success rate reaches 68 percent!”
Since the rise of Abortion Pill Reversal, abortion activists and left-wing pro-abortion media outlets have dismissed the treatment as “junk science” and “dangerous.” But for Kaitlyn and hundreds of women like her, the science is very real—and meaningful."
3. Five lawmakers facing tough primary races
"Here are the five incumbents most at risk of losing a primary:
Rep. Robert Pittenger (R-N.C.)
Pittenger came exceptionally close to losing a 2016 primary race, defeating Republican primary opponent Mark Harris by just 134 votes.
Two years later, Harris, a retired reverend, has launched another bid to unseat Pittenger in the May 8 primary.
Using President Trump’s “drain the swamp” slogan in his latest TV ad, Harris has sought to tag Pittenger, who has served in Congress since 2013, as a creature of Washington"
4. BREAKING: Alfie Evans’ mom: hospital ‘went behind our backs,’ plans to remove baby’s life support
"Just hours after receiving new signs of hope, now Alfie Evans’ parents say that Alder Hey Children's Hospital still intends to remove life support that will end the life of their son on Friday.
Earlier today, LifeSiteNews reported that the hospital agreed to delay the removal of the 22-month-old boy’s life support and instead evaluate new treatment options. But in a new Facebook post, Alfie’s mother Kate James accuses the hospital of giving them “false hope.”
She says that despite the fact that they presented the hospital with fresh evidence that Alfie was fit to be flown to another hospital, Alder Hey Hospital has “gone behind our backs and at 4 pm sent the application back to Justice Hayden to remove Alfie’s life support as soon as tomorrow, even though in the meeting they agreed to view the evidence and have a meeting over it.”"
5. Over One Million Dollars Raised for ‘MLK50 Dream Forward Scholarship Initiative’
The MLK50 Conference is sponsored by the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.
"Leaders of the MLK50: Gospel Reflections from the Mountaintop event announced today that more than $1.5 million dollars has been raised for the “MLK50 Dream Forward Scholarship Initiative,” that will allow Christian colleges and seminaries to invest in the educational future of minority students.
The centerpiece of this effort is the creation of a pathway to a quality higher education through an array of full and partial tuition scholarships at participating Christian colleges and universities around the country reserved exclusively for minority students in Memphis."
WEEKLY PRAYER: LIFE
LORD, we recognize that you are Sovereign over all creation. We recognize you made man from the dust, and in your mercy crowned creation with man and woman made in your image. What a wonder it is that you would bestow upon us this blessing and responsibility!
We pray LORD that we would not take this for granted. We pray that both this great responsibility, and this great dignity, may motivate us to love you more, love our neighbor more, and love ourselves more.
We pray that such a great dignity--to be made in your image--may sober our minds and hands. LORD, let us work and love towards respecting and protecting the dignity of your human creation. Be with us as we champion this dignity in public by calling for the protection of human life in the womb; a life that you tell us you knit and know. Be with the efforts of the pro-life movement in abolishing the inhuman savagery of terminating human life in the womb. Be with our families, churches, and ministries as they work through pregnancy centers or adoption and fostering to care for the orphans and needy. Be with us in loving mothers and caring for widows.
LORD, we also bring these specific prayer requests to you, and pray that your Spirit may empower and protect our labor: Be with the voters as they select new leaders in the primaries on May 8th, and guide them to choose the best leader for NC's 9th Congressional district. A man who will take action to preserve unborn babies' lives, not just pay lip service to it. A man who has integrity and whose life is lived by walking out the truth. LORD, we pray for Alfie and his family, we have been following alongside him for so long and you alone can know what is in store for him. GOD we thank you for all your blessings and ask that you guide us in raising children who walk in the path you have for them.
"3 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court." (Ps 127:3-5)
