1. Republicans, Democrats have starkly different views on transgender issues
"Overall, roughly half of Americans (54%) say that whether someone is a man or a woman is determined by the sex they were assigned at birth, while 44% say someone can be a man or a woman even if that is different from the sex they were assigned at birth."
2. University TA 'Censured' After Playing A Clip From A Debate About Transgender Pronouns
"On November 1, Shepherd, who teaches a "language use and writing skills component" tutorial for a larger communications class at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada, played a clip in which University of Toronto professor, Jordan Peterson, debates Nicholas Matte over gender pronouns on the Canadian TV show, "The Agenda."
According to Shepherd, she took a completely neutral stance, neither condemning nor applauding Peterson’s position. However, one or more of her approximately 48 students filed a complaint with the school. As a result, Shepherd was censured, and brought in for a meeting with course professor, Dr. Nathan Rambukkana, Dr. Herbert Pimlott, and Adria Joel, Acting Manager of Gendered Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention and Support at the Diversity and Equity Office."
3. Married teacher and JV cheerleading coach, 23, arrested for sex affair with teen boy student
"A married North Carolina teacher and junior varsity cheerleading coach was arrested Wednesday after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a male student.
Katherine Ross Ridenhour, 23, an educator at Cox Mill High School in Concord, N.C., allegedly had a consensual relationship with a 17-year-old male student, FOX46 reported."
4. Thanksgiving recipe: Turkey, stuffing, and great values for your kids
"In Richard Kirshenbaum’s book about Manhattan’s uber-wealthy, “Isn’t That Rich?,” a father sighs: “I wish I had my son’s childhood, and I wish he had mine.” That’s the challenge for affluent parents who want to give their kids the world, but not destroy their initiative.
The issue comes to a head at Thanksgiving time, when gratitude so often slides off the menu in favor of turkey, football, and gearing up for Black Friday shopping, which sadly begins now on Thursday nights.
So how can parents walk that fine line between instilling proper values in their children, while at the same time not coming across as annoying, preachy or worse? Sentences that begin “when I was your age” are usually the last things your kids want to hear."
5. Teen's 'Thank You Jesus' Movement Reaches Major Milestone
"What started as a Triad teenager's way of spreading love has turned into a global movement that’s still growing.
Lucas Hunt from Asheboro [NC] has sold over 100,000 "Thank You Jesus" signs in all 50 states and over 10 countries around the world!"
WEEKLY PRAYER: OFFICIALS
LORD, you are the Judge of the nations. You are Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. You are sovereign over all.
LORD, may we find assurance and comfort in the reality that you are the LORD God. In spite of the political events that are unfolding in our country and around the world, we remind ourselves that you are in control. That the Church is within the protection of your providence. That Jesus is our Prince of Peace, and that one day every knee shall bow and declare His Lordship.
LORD, we also bring these specific prayer requests to you, and pray that your Spirit may empower our petitions: Be with our local political officials. Be with your people as they deal with major issues like gay marriage and transgenderism. Be with Governor Cooper and Lt. Governor Forest. Give them good health, and God-fearing hearts. Be with all the members of our General Assembly, and with the judges of our courts. Be with President Trump and his cabinet. Be with our nation's Supreme Court and Legislature so they can make moral and ethical decision that are in line with Your natural law.
“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God." (Romans 13:1)
"For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations." (Psalms 22:28)
