1. Trump can close a key taxpayer abortion funding loophole
"New Title X regulations give us the best chance of making significant progress in the fight to end taxpayer support for the abortion industry – and of firing up the grassroots ahead of the midterm elections.
In one of the most heartbreaking moments of 2017 for the pro-life movement, last summer, Congress came within a single vote of what would have been a historic pro-life victory: stripping abortion giant Planned Parenthood of taxpayer funding that ought to go to comprehensive healthcare alternatives instead.
Yet, inexplicably, Planned Parenthood remains funded to the tune of more than half a billion dollars a year. The disappointment of the pro-life community nationwide at Congress’ failure to follow through on this key promise cannot be overstated. It has the potential to dampen turnout at the polls this November at a time when the other side is fired up."
2. Abortion Pill ‘Reversal’ Doctor: I See It Becoming the ‘Standard of Care’
"Dr. George Delgado, a leading proponent of the controversial treatment to "reverse" a medication abortion, sat down with Rewire.News for a wide-ranging interview on consent and a new case series that details patients who have received the regimen...
Each of the women included in the new study took mifepristone, the first of two drugs required for a medication abortion, but hadn’t yet taken the second drug, misoprostol. Abortion pill “reversal” involves administering the pregnancy hormone progesterone, either orally, vaginally, or by injection, to counteract mifepristone. Of the 547 patients administered progesterone within 72 hours of taking mifepristone who remained in the study, 257 reported live births. The overall “reversal” rate was 48 percent, reaching a rate of 64 percent among those receiving progesterone shots, according to the case series."
We wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude to all the mothers out there. We are not exaggerating when we say that mothers form the foundation of our society.
Each generation is dependent on a mother's high calling to bring and nurture life into our world. Every one of us is here because of a mother. Values such as life and liberty are very much dependent on our value of motherhood, and it is a value we hold highly with great love and admiration.
To the mothers that make up our coalition we want to say: Thank You! Thank you for your life, your sacrifice, your nurture, your protection, your beauty, and your love.
We also want to invite our community to consider showing their appreciation of motherhood throughout the year by ordering a "Choose Life" license plate. Every time an expectant mother or a mother with children sees it, they are encouraged that the calling of motherhood is worth it.
Would you consider joining the over 1,500 North Carolinians who are displaying these life-affirming license plates by visiting https://chooselifenc.org and learning more?
4. ‘We created demand for abortion by pushing sex ed on kids’: former abortion clinic owner
"“How do you sell an abortion? In the US it’s very simple: You do it through sex education,” former abortion clinic owner Carol Everett told participants at the Rose Dinner following the National March for Life on Thursday in Ottawa.
Everett, who ran a chain of four abortion clinics in Texas from 1977-1983 — where an estimated 35,000 unborn children were aborted before her dramatic conversion and departure from the industry — told about 430 participants at the dinner that she had a goal of becoming a millionaire by selling abortions to teenage girls.
“We had a goal of 3-5 abortions from every girl between the ages of 13 and 18, because we all work on a straight commission inside the abortion industry,” she said. With every customer, Everett became a little richer."
5. Legislature back in session—Raising the Curtain on the the N.C. General Assembly’s 2018 Short Session.
"School safety, charter schools, and teacher pay headline K-12 issues for Republican and Democratic lawmakers during the N.C. General Assembly’s 2018 short session.
The legislature will consider 14 recommendations from the newly formed House Select Committee on School Safety, including funding for school resource officers, efficient licensing for school psychologists, and peer-to-peer counseling programs in schools.
As with most sessions, public charter schools will be hotly debated, mostly due to House Bill 514, a measure to allow a handful of municipalities to launch their own charters."
WEEKLY PRAYER: FAMILY
LORD, we cry out to you as Father. You are a beautiful Dad. You are a model of the love, mercy, and authority of the perfect parent. We thank you for modeling for us what every parent should strive for, and for creating this wonderful institution called family.
LORD, we thank you for creating us with a basic nature designed to not be alone. Our very nature calls us into the most intimate of relationships, where we experience joys indescribable: the joys of marriage, the joys of having children; the joys of seeing our children have children. What a blessing and mercy you gave us in the family! In it we find our first teachers, our first guardians, and our first authorities.
LORD, we recognize how deeply you love your children, and how deeply it pains you when they go astray. Alongside our adoration and thanksgiving, we pray in confession--as individuals and as members of larger communities--over any sins we may have committed that undermine your beloved institution. Forgive us when we endanger your institution through selfishness and arrogance. Forgive our communities and nation for attempting to redefine some of the most basic and deepest parts of being human--being made male and female, having lifelong marriage vows and responsibilities, and having parental rights over educating one's children.
LORD, we also bring these specific prayer requests to you, and pray that your Spirit may empower and protect our labor: LORD be with our schools and legislature as they try to protect our children! Be with our our children who are being exposed to indoctrination about abortion at school. LORD, be with the women of North Carolina, have them realize how important they are in the public policy debate and have their voices and values heard so that your will be done. Be with all of our families today, and we ask that your Spirit may empower us to be better fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and children.
".Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)
