We urgently need you to contact your state Representatives and encourage them to support the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. SB405 is a piece of common-sense legislation recently passed in the Senate and introduced by Senators Joyce Krawiec, Lisa Barnes, and Amy Galey, that is all about preventing infanticide.
Everyone should be able to agree that the circumstance of a child’s birth should not determine their right to life. Senate Bill 405 solidifies this truth by closing a loophole in state statutes and clarifies and codifies that any infant born alive is a legal person. The bill guarantees the right to life of baby girls and boys who born alive after a failed late-term abortion are entitled to full medical services.
This bill is about infanticide, plain and simple. Over thirty states have laws offering at least some explicit protection to babies who survive abortions, but North Carolina has not established legal protections for born-alive infants. A state law is necessary to ensure that all infants who survive abortions are protected.
We implore you to take a minute to use our click to contact form to CONTACT your NC Representatives and ask them to OPPOSE infanticide and PROTECT babies born alive during abortions by VOTING FOR the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (SB405).
